Getting Your Update Online

For this we will use the login panel. (You should have the login url (link) and your AP number and password. If you don't have this info, email me and I'll send it to you.)

  1. Log in using your AP number and password
  2. Find the first yellow folder (in the top left corner) that says "File Manager" and click on it.
  3. Now locate the folder that says html (Usually it's the third one down) click on it.
  4. You are now looking at your website! All these documents you see are your individual web pages. Locate the page that you would like to update.
  5. Next to the white square box (on the right edge) there is a pencil. Click on that pencil.
  6. That page is now displayed in code. Copy/paste the entire code into a blank Word Pad. This is very important. If you make an error and it corrupts the page you will have a back-up.
  7. Now scroll down until you see in capital letters "WRITE UPDATES BELOW"
  8. If you have studied Introduction to XHTML Tutorial -1- and done the three exercises you should be able to change and insert basic text. If the code looks confusing to you see the NOTE below.

That's it! Wasn't that easy!?

NOTE: If you are not sure about something, always ask! When you do these updates you should feel comfortable. If that's not the case be sure to study the appropriate tutorials. If you are still unsure call me and I will step you through the update over the phone.
